Auto-Patch Guide for the VE6HM Repeater

The auto-patch system connected to the VE6HM repeater (VHF & UHF) has been revised January 23, 2009. The new auto-patch system requires an access code (A) and then a command digit (0 through 3) to be entered from your DTMF pad to activate (and deactivate) the system.

To Manually Dial a Number

  • enter the access code A,
  • followed by the command digit 1,
  • and then the 10-digit telephone number you wish to call.
  • to end the call (hang up): A 0
  • example 1: to call the City of Edmonton Mayor's office dial A 1 780 496 8100
  • examplet 2: to call the Premier of Alberta's office dial  A 1 780 427 2251

 

To Auto-Dial (or speed-dial) a Number

  • enter the access code A,
  • followed by the command digit 2,
  • and then the speed-dial number (1 to 200). 
  • note that speed-dials in the 90-100 range are reserved for emergency calls (see the list below).
  • to end the call (hang up): A 0
  • example: to call Speed Dial memory 73 dial  A 2 73

 

To Exit the Auto-Patch (hang up)

  • Enter the access code A,
  • followed by the command digit 0.

 

Extending the Auto-Patch Time-Out Timer

The auto-patch allows a single call duration of 30 minutes.  The time-out period can be reset (for an additional 30 minutes)

  • by entering the access code A,
  • followed by the command number 3
  • The time-out timer can be reset as many times as necessary.

 

Emergency Speed-Dials

These speed-dials are intended for use in bona-fide emergencies only:

A 2 91 -  Edmonton Police Service general complaint line
A 2 92 -  RCMP "K" Division
A 2 93 -  City of Edmonton Fire Department
A 2 99 -  City of Edmonton 9-1-1 Dispatch
A 1 911 -  County of Strathcona 9-1-1 Dispatch

Toll Restriction

Any telephone number starting with a "1" has been disabled in the system.  This includes all long-distance numbers and "1-800" & "1-900" numbers.
